Thank you!

Thanks, friends, for hanging past your bedtime last night and saying "bye bye" to Josh with us. It's been a fun trip. Not sure if we've got something else cooking at the moment to continue this project in any way, but in the mean time, keep an eye out for Eric in Brick Mower and Josh in Parasol.

One More for the Road

Good news! Well, at least for us...

We've got one more gig coming up this Thursday before Josh heads out to the great northwest. We will be performing (instead of Cool Shirt) at the Lamp Post in Jersey City. Show is at 9:30 PM. We go on first.

Come hang, and then check out other excellent bands, Perennial Reel and Overlake, in that order.

More event info here.

"A Boy Named Good" has arrived!

At long last, our LP records have arrived!  They look quite tasty and are ready to be transferred into your hands.  Digital streams and physical products are available at bandcamp.  Josh and I have assembled zines containing lyrics and essays which will also be inserted into each and every LP jacket. Our treat.

To celebrate the release of this slab of circular wax, and provide more opportunities for those wanting to scoop one up, we will be performing the following gigs.  Details to be filled in a bit more as things progress...

Fri, Sep 27 @ Cooler Ranch, New Brunswick NJ w/ Ex Wife, Sun Puddles
Fri, Oct 11 @ Lulu's, Brooklyn NY w/ Deep Pockets
Sat, Oct 12 @ Lamp Post, Jersey City NJ w/ Overlake, Latent States

LP Update + shows

It's been so long since we last talked.  No guilt trip to lay on ya.  It's not you.  It's us...  In the past couple of months, we've all been distracted with Brick Mower tours, teaching careers, and shuttling residences between Boston and NJ and have thus obscured from you our vision of Real Good futures.

Behold, below, the beautiful artwork for our upcoming LP, bestowed upon us by the gifted Jacob Pastrovich.

As to be expected, in standard amateur / DIY / punk fashion, we hit some snags along the way which have delayed the original anticipated release timing for this, and we're now figuring it will be out in early fall of this year.  The specs and checks have all been shipped off to the plant, courtesy of i love to hate records, so now we just have to let the business run its course.  We are most excited to say that this will be brought to you in the form of 12" vinyl records, and we are even more than most excited to say that we are very happy with the way this thing sounds.

For those of you living in the cities of Providence, RI or Worcester, MA, you will be among the first to get a taste of what is on the record, in the form of some sample taster CD-Rs which we will have for you at our shows THIS WEEK.  Both shows will be with our friends, Deep Pockets.  Apologies for the 11th hour invite, but here are the details...

Thursday, July 11
w/ Way Out, Tenants
@ Dusk, 301 Harris Ave.
Providence RI
9 PM / $4

Friday, July 12
w/ Dungeoneers, White Pages
@ Distant Castle
Worcester MA
9 PM / $5 suggested donation

Will be in touch again soon when we have more to share regarding the release.  Otherwise, keep beatin' the heat.

Hang loose,
Good

Finish What You Started

Again, I have shamefully neglected this corner of the internet.  Why does blogging strike me as -  Well, as a matter of fact, I suppose that blogging just doesn't strike me.  There's a chance I may never get this right.  But I reluctantly refuse to shirk my obligation to maintain this post for those who want to know about our recent and upcoming goings-on without succumbing to the machinations of Zuckerberg world.

ALAS, Real Good is recording a full-length record, our first, titled "A Boy Named Good."  We've been laying down the law, as well as our tunes, on the warm crisp tones of analog tape at Project Sound in Haverhill, MA.  See here for proof:

We are very pleased with the way this is going so far, and our man behind the dials, Jay Duguay, has been a supreme talent and friend on this.  We are thankful for his labor thus far, and will be returning to continue and finish tracking this upcoming weekend.

The album will feature a number within the ballpark of 13 tracks, including some re-recordings of old songs, and some first time chops at new ones as well.  We're still unsure of which format it's going to find its way onto, but the artwork is going to be done by Jacob Pastrovich and the album will be released on i love to hate records and clubhouse records.  We're currently shooting for an early summer release, which will hopefully be followed by a quick round of tour dates.

In the meantime, we also have a handful of other gigs in the works...

Friday, March 22 @ The Meat Locker, Montclair NJ w/ Deep Pockets
Saturday, April 20 @ The Lamp Post, Jersey City NJ w/ Risk Relay

Plus other gigs in the region that may include Long Island, Philadelphia, Boston, and Brooklyn...

Keep ya in the reel-to-real,

John / RG
